NEW BUSINESS:

Nothing to report.

OLD BUSINESS:

2:00PM ........ Trimesters & Merit Curriculum Planning .......... Group Discussion

As requested by the MOISD principals at the February meeting, Mike Travis distributed copies of the Math and English units that were developed by the Montcalm Area Career Center to meet the senior credit requirements. To receive electronic copies of these documents Paula Fortino, the principal at MACC can be contacted at pfortino@maisd.com or the unit coordinator Celena Mills at cmills@maisd.com.

2:10PM ........... MME (ACT & WorkKeys Testing) ............. Group Discussion

With the exception of the faulty DVDs from Pearson all principals reported that testing with the ACT-MME went very well. It was noted that all schools released either seniors and/or had career visits for the 9 th graders while giving the 10 th graders the PLAN test. The majority of schools also released their juniors at the conclusion of testing each day.

2:20PM ................... CSAA Recruiting Efforts ..................... Group Discussion

All principals reviewed the letters of interest submitted by the leaders of Hesperia, Holton, and White Cloud schools. All letters were received prior to the March 12 th timeline. The discussion was very enthusiastic and favorable toward the inclusion of three new schools. The principals believe that the CSAA will be a good fit for the three new schools and that we can offer them spirited and competitive opportunities in academics and athletics. Furthermore it was felt that increasing the league from 6 schools to 9 will provide solidarity for the future of the CSAA. In order to allow more time and more easily facilitate attendance to the Talent Show & Art Revue by the guests representing Hesperia, Holton, and White Cloud it was determined that the dinner meeting will be moved from Bennigan’s to the Big Rapids High School Media Center. The Big Rapids Food Service Department will prepare the meal which will be served at 5:00PM on April 19 th, 2007. The purpose of this meeting is to share what the CSAA has to offer and to review what the interested schools have to offer the CSAA. Those schools wishing to make a commitment to join will be required to submit a formal application to the CSAA before the end of the 06-07 school year (date TBD). Inclusion into the league for new schools will be for the 2008-2009 school year and will be subject a resolution drafted by the principals and passed by the respective school boards. Although the inclusion is intended for the 2008-2009 school year, it may be possible and preferable to begin working those interested schools into the academic and athletic competition schedules to gain increasing familiarity and allow for the transition to be seamless. Those guests administrators wishing to attend the Talent Show & Art Revue beginning at 7:00PM will be given a complimentary pass as we believe this event is representative of what the CSAA can offer. It was determined that the principals of each school (excluding CC-C) will attend this meeting. In addition, Gary Jensen, Lakeview High School AP/AD, John Kearny, Central Montcalm AP/AD and CSAA Scheduler as well as Clark Huntey, Morley-Stanwood Athletic Director will attend the April 19 th meeting.

2:40PM ...... Coaches Banquet & Year-End Principals’/ADs’ Meeting ...... Mike Travis

Tentative Date: Thursday June 14 th

Tentative Location: Highland Haus – Canadian Lakes , Stanwood.

Tentative Times: ................ Principals & ADs’ Meeting 10:00AM

............................................... Awards Ceremonies 11:30AM

............................................... Buffet Luncheon 12:00AM

.............................................. Golf Cost & Details: Group of 30+ $14.00 w/Cart Unlimited After 5:00PM

............................................... Buffet Cost: $16.95 per person. Each school will pay for their own plates.

.............................................. Menu: Broasted Chicken, Prim Sirloin w/Mushroom Demi Glaze, Parmesan Redskin Potatoes, Fettuncini Alfredo, Green Bean Almondine, Mixed Green Salad, French Bread, Rolls w/Butter, Strawberry Shortcake, Tea, Coffee, and water.

The principals decided that if possible it would be preferable for the unlimited golfing times to begin at 1:00 or 1:30PM . However if that is not possible the second choice was to push the meetings and buffet later in the day so that the Principal/AD Meeting begins at 1:30PM, the Awards Ceremonies begin at 3:00PM, the Buffet begins at 3:30PM, and the golf begins at 5:00PM. Mike Travis will report on this at the next meeting after conferring with Mr. Crank regarding the options.

2:50PM .......................................... CSAA Website .................................................. Mike Travis

.......................................................... The site is now online at www.csaaweb.net/

.......................................................... Webmaster Mrs. Susan Olson at olsons@lakeviewschools.net

.......................................................... Student Assistant Pascal Winter at 07winterp@lakeviewschools.net

The principals inquired how the development of the site was progressing and Mike Travis informed them that the Mrs. Olson and her student assistant Pascal Winter had been working on correcting the daylight savings issues resulting from the earlier time change, but would be directing their attention there as soon as possible. It was noted that it was a priority for the site to be completely up and functional by April 15 th or sooner so that it was completed prior to the April 19 th dinner meeting with Holton, Hesperia, and White Cloud so it can serve as a communication and marketing tool for league expansion.

3:00PM ............................................ Adjournment .................................................................. Departure

Motion to adjourn was made by Tom Antioho and seconded by Denny Szczerowski. Motion passed 6-0.
